Job summary

CSU Stanislaus seeks two temporary hourly-intermittent student assistants for the Warrior Fab Lab in Turlock, CA. You will help operate the lab, support students and staff, and promote maker activities. This role emphasizes safety, customer service, and hands‑on fabrication support.

You will gain experience with digital fabrication tools, assist with workshops, and mentor peers while contributing to instructional resources. Requires undergrad enrollment and a strong service mindset.

Qualifications

• Must be an undergraduate enrolled in at least six units fall and spring.
• Commitment to excellent customer service in a collaborative learning env.
• Ability to follow safety procedures with minimal supervision.
• Ability to lift and move materials and equipment.
• Undergrad must be registered in six fall/spring units.
• Experience with digital fabrication and design software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance for 3D printers, CNCs, lasers and vinyl cutters.
• Review and troubleshoot design files using CAD and slicing software.
• Monitor safety and keep a clean, organized workspace.
• Respond to emails with timely customer service.
• Monitor inventory and notify staff of needs.
• Maintain records and follow lab policies.
• Conduct tours for prospective students and visitors.
• Document fab lab projects with photos/videos for learners.
• Participate in training and expand lab knowledge.
• Train peers and student assistants on equipment use.
• Assist with workshops, outreach, and programs.
• Design promotional materials for events.
• Develop instructional guides and tutorials.
• Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance.
• Attend staff meetings and training sessions.
• Other duties as assigned.
