Job summary

CSU Stanislaus is seeking a Student Assistant to support the Warrior Fab Lab operations. You will assist with daily lab activities, provide tech support for fabrication tools, and help maintain a welcoming, safe space for students and community members.

The role focuses on hands-on instruction, equipment maintenance, and outreach efforts, with opportunities to lead workshops and document projects. Position is on-site in Stanislaus, Turlock.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled as an undergraduate student in a minimum of six (6) units during the Fall and Spring semesters.
• Demonstrated commitment to providing excellent customer service in a collaborative and inclusive learning environment.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and work responsibly with minimal supervision.
• Ability to lift and move materials and equipment consistent with the essential functions of the position.
• Undergraduate students must be registered/enrolled in a minimum of six (6) Fall/Spring units.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance to Fab Lab users in the safe and effective use of tools and equipment, including 3D printers, laser cutters, and vinyl cutters.
• Review, prepare, troubleshoot, and inspect digital design files for fabrication using CAD and slicing software.
• Monitor safe use of Fab Lab equipment and enforce safety procedures.
• Respond to emails and provide timely, courteous customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
• Train and mentor fellow student assistants and Fab Lab users on equipment operation and best practices.
