Job summary

Amentum is seeking an Aircraft Engine Mechanic/FEDS Operator to repair or replace worn engine parts using current technical instructions and to test engine components and systems to ensure proper operation. You will disassemble and inspect parts such as turbine blades and cylinders for wear, warping, cracks, and leaks, and assist in installation and removal of engine systems.

The role requires an FAA Powerplant License or equivalent FEDS experience, the ability to obtain facility credentials,

Qualifications

  • FAA Powerplant License is required.
  • If no A&P, five years of documented experience as a Flexible Engine Diagnostic System (FEDS) operator.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. US Citizenship required for credentials at the work location.
  • Tools are required; must possess own shadowed/etched tools and toolbox.

Responsibilities

  • Repair or replace worn, defective, or damaged aircraft engine parts using current technical instructions.
  • Test engine components and systems to ensure proper operation with testing equipment.
  • Disassemble and inspect engine parts (e.g., turbine blades, cylinders) for wear, warping, cracks, and leaks.
  • Assist in preparation and installation of engines and removal of engine systems and components.
  • Possibly operate and evaluate engine systems using an engine run cell.
