Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead a dynamic team working on the FAA ERAM program in Gaithersburg, MD. You will oversee the full software lifecycle from design to testing, drive productivity improvements, and manage budgets, schedules, and risks for high-assurance air traffic software.

The role requires leading a diverse software team, experience on large-scale programs, and strong communication with internal and external customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 9+ years of professional experience or master’s with 7+ years.
• Ability to obtain SF-85P Public Trust clearance from FAA customer.
• Experience leading a diverse software team and managing workloads.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full software development lifecycle activities across product areas.
• Lead productivity improvements and adoption of AI in daily workflows.
• Track and report software status with detailed artifacts for stakeholders.
• Handle CAM responsibilities and basis of estimates for proposals.
• Manage schedules, risks, defects, change requests and action items.
• Ensure delivery of quality specifications, code, and procedures.
• Facilitate planning meetings, reviews, and customer sessions.
• Coordinate subcontractor requirements for ERAM software.
• Conduct interim and performance reviews for department personnel.
