Job summary

Delaware State University seeks an Aircraft Mechanic to maintain and repair its aircraft and ensure airworthy condition. The role reports to the Chief of Maintenance and focuses on performing inspections and maintenance per FARs and manufacturer guidelines.

The ideal candidate will hold an FAA A&P certificate, have experience with GA aircraft, and be capable of reading STCs, ADs, and SBs. Strong physical stamina and the ability to work in a hands-on environment are required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations, Part 141
• Experience reading STCs (STC), Airworthiness Directives (AD), and Service Bulletins (SB)
• Prior experience in troubleshooting, inspection and repair of avionics systems
• Requires ability to twist, bend, squat, climb, crawling and other body movements
• Normal physical exertion; lifting up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and inspections per FARs and manufacturers’ recommendations.
• Ensure scheduled maintenance is completed efficiently with high quality.
• Keep the work area clean and orderly.
• Report issues, malfunctions, or damage to Chief of Maintenance.
