SDFM in Hagerstown, MD is seeking an experienced A&P Mechanic for a 1 year contract-to-hire. You will perform repairs, maintenance and component replacement on aircraft, with emphasis on airframes, engines and powerplant systems, following safety and aviation standards.

The role requires FAA A&P certification, strong reading of schematics, and the ability to work in a dynamic shop environment. Must have own tools and reliable transportation; travel and overtime may be required.

Competenze

• Must pass, written, oral and practical assessments.
• FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification with no prior FAA violations.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work locations.
• Must have own tools in good working order.
• Ability to speak, read and write in English.
• Pass and maintain Class 3 Physical requirements, including a hearing test.
• Advanced experience in repairing, maintaining and/or troubleshooting aircraft airframes and engines.
• Preferred: FAA repair station and/or Quality Assurance experience.
• Able to travel on a regular basis and/or work different shifts including overtime and weekends.
• Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military.

• Perform checks on mechanical and functional components, including testing and replacement of defective parts.
• Use a variety of tools and equipment to diagnose parts to be replaced, ensuring compliance with standards.
