Job summary

GM Performance Power Units in Concord, NC is seeking an ERS Electronics Validation Engineer to verify and validate ERS electronic hardware from prototype to homologated, race-proven specification. You will plan and run test programs with cross-functional teams to prove performance, reliability, and regulatory compliance before hardware reaches the track.

You'll own validation strategy, build test benches, execute comprehensive test campaigns, and analyze data with Python/MATLAB, while supporting

Qualifications

Bachelors in Electrical/Electronic Engineering with 3+ years of relevant experience.
Hands-on validation experience with power electronics or HV hardware.
Proficiency with lab instruments and data acquisition.
HV safety practices (LOTO, HVIL) knowledge.
Ability to read schematics/PCB layouts (Altium).

Responsibilities

Own the validation strategy and DVP test plans for ERS electronic hardware from requirement to sign-off.
Design, build, and commission test benches and rigs for power units.
Execute functional, performance, and abuse test campaigns including EMC pre-compliance.
Post-process measurement data (Python, MATLAB) and compare to models.
Support dyno testing, instrumentation calibration, and on-cell troubleshooting.
Lead failure investigations and root-cause analysis on returned hardware.
Contribute to DFMEA and design gate reviews for ERS electronics.
Generate test evidence to demonstrate FIA compliance for ERS power and HV requirements.
