Job summary

Zurich is seeking a GAP Claims Adjuster to join the F&I GAP Claims Team in a remote role based in the United States. You’ll learn to interpret, investigate and evaluate GAP policies and coverage issues while handling a low-to-moderate exposure caseload.

Responsibilities include reviewing new claims, making initial contact, handling inquiries, processing mail, coordinating with providers, and evaluating claims for closure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and no prior experience in Claims, OR
• High School Diploma and 2+ years in Customer Service, OR
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree with no prior Claims experience
• Must obtain and maintain required adjuster licenses
• Experience with Microsoft Office

Job description

Zurich is currently hiring a GAP Claims Adjuster to join their F&I GAP Claims Team. This is a great opportunity to start a career in claims by learning how to interpret, investigate and evaluate policies and coverage issues, as well as claims handling and best practices. Guaranteed Asset Protection (GAP) coverage helps cover the difference between what a vehicle is worth at the time of a total loss and what the customer still owes on the loan. At this level, you will manage F&I GAP claims caseload that consists of low to moderate exposure.As part of Zurich North America’s commitment to service excellence, you will build partnerships with customers and brokers and may be aligned to specific accounts.

This is a remote position in the United States. One must be willing to work Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:30am – 6:00pm local time, with occasional Saturday and/or overtime as required.

As an F&I GAP Claims Adjuster, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Reviewing new claims and ensuring all required information is complete
• Making initial contact
• Responding promptly to emails and phone calls to address questions or concerns
• Processing incoming mail and handling relevant documentation efficiently
• Managing requests and coordinating with providers as needed
• Evaluating claims for closure and making decisions that support positive outcomes

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree and no prior experience required in the Claims area
  OR
• High School Diploma or Equivalent and 2 or more years of experience in the Customer Service area
  OR
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and no prior experience required in the Claims area
  AND
• Must obtain and maintain required adjuster license(s)
• Experience with Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications:

• Insurance industry knowledge
• Minimum of 6 months of contact center experience
• Proven ability to multitask across multiple applications and systems
• Comfortable working with various platforms and multiple monitors simultaneously
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
• Experience in the finance, automotive, or total loss claims areas
• Strong team collaboration and interpersonal skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Highly detail oriented with strong organizational abilities
• Self-sufficient and proactive in task management
• Skilled in effective problem resolution and customer support

Your pay at Zurich is based on your role, location, skills, and experience. We follow local laws to ensure fair compensation. You may also be eligible for bonuses and merit increases. The pay range shown is a national average and may vary by location. The proposed hourly rate for this position is $22.40 - $30.87, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 5%.
