Job summary

The Wayfarer San Luis Obispo, a Tapestry Collection by Hilton, is seeking an F&B Attendant to provide friendly, efficient service from order to table at our on-site restaurant and bar. You will interact with guests, take orders, prepare drinks, run food, buss tables, and maintain a clean, guest-ready dining area.

Preferred candidates have at least 1 year in guest service or a related role, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a lively environment while upholding food

Qualifications

• 1+ year of guest service or Food & Beverage experience preferred.
• Comfortable handling cash and processing transactions.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced restaurant setting.

Responsibilities

• Take food and beverage orders at the counter or bar and enter into the POS.
• Prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and deliver to tables.
• Run food, bus tables, and keep dining areas clean and guest-ready.
• Respond to guest questions and provide friendly, solutions-focused service.
• Assist with opening/closing duties and stock replenishment as needed.

THE ROLE

As an F&B Attendant, you’ll be a versatile member of the Food & Beverage team, helping create a smooth and welcoming dining experience from order to table. You’ll interact directly with guests while taking orders, operating the POS, preparing beverages, running food, bussing tables, and keeping the dining area clean and guest-ready. You’ll:

• Welcome guests with friendly, personalized service


• Take food and beverage orders at the counter or bar, enter orders accurately into the POS, and process payments


• Make recommendations and use suggestive selling to enhance the guest experience


• Prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages


• Run food and beverages to guest tables and check in throughout their visit


• Respond to guest questions, requests, and concerns with a helpful, solutions-focused approach


• Answer the restaurant phone and take to-go orders


• Bus, wipe down, and reset tables for the next guests


• Complete opening, closing, and assigned side work


• Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary dining and service areas


• Assist with sweeping, mopping, dusting, and other cleaning duties as needed


• Replenish and transport dining room supplies from storage


• Follow food safety, sanitation, and cash-handling procedures


• Work closely with other Food & Beverage team members and hotel departments to keep operations running smoothly

Guests receive friendly, efficient service throughout their dining experience, whether they’re ordering at the counter, enjoying a meal, or picking up a to-go order. The dining area stays clean and organized, orders and transactions are accurate, and you’re a dependable team member who can confidently jump between tasks to keep service moving.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• 1+ year of guest service, restaurant, or Food & Beverage experience preferred


• Strong guest service and communication skills


• Comfortable taking orders, operating a POS, and handling cash and credit transactions


• Ability to prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages


• Comfortable making menu and beverage recommendations and suggestively selling


• Strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment


• Ability to prioritize, stay focused, and respond to guest needs


• Dependable, team-oriented, and willing to jump in wherever help is needed


• High school diploma or equivalent preferred


• English-speaking or bilingual


• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and frequently bend, reach, lift, and carry


• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. without assistance
