Job summary

The Wayfarer San Luis Obispo, managed by Parable Hospitality, is seeking an F&B Attendant to support a smooth dining experience from order to table. You will interact with guests, take orders, operate the POS, prepare beverages, run food, bus tables, and keep dining areas guest-ready.

We value friendly service, attentiveness, and teamwork as you handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting, ensuring clean, well-maintained spaces and positive guest interactions throughout shifts.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of guest service, restaurant, or Food & Beverage experience preferred.
• Strong guest service and communication skills.
• Comfortable taking orders, operating a POS, and handling cash and credit transactions.
• Ability to prepare and serve a variety of beverages.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs.

ABOUT THE PROPERTY

THE ROLE

As an F&B Attendant, you’ll be a versatile member of the Food & Beverage team, helping create a smooth and welcoming dining experience from order to table. You’ll interact directly with guests while taking orders, operating the POS, preparing beverages, running food, bussing tables, and keeping the dining area clean and guest-ready. You’ll:

• Welcome guests with friendly, personalized service


• Take food and beverage orders at the counter or bar, enter orders accurately into the POS, and process payments


• Make recommendations and use suggestive selling to enhance the guest experience


• Prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages


• Run food and beverages to guest tables and check in throughout their visit


• Respond to guest questions, requests, and concerns with a helpful, solutions-focused approach


• Answer the restaurant phone and take to-go orders


• Bus, wipe down, and reset tables for the next guests


• Complete opening, closing, and assigned side work


• Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary dining and service areas


• Assist with sweeping, mopping, dusting, and other cleaning duties as needed


• Replenish and transport dining room supplies from storage


• Follow food safety, sanitation, and cash-handling procedures


• Work closely with other Food & Beverage team members and hotel departments to keep operations running smoothly

The dining area stays clean and organized, orders and transactions are accurate, and you’re a dependable team member who can confidently jump between tasks to keep service moving.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• 1+ year of guest service, restaurant, or Food & Beverage experience preferred


• Strong guest service and communication skills


• Comfortable taking orders, operating a POS, and handling cash and credit transactions


• Ability to prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages


• Comfortable making menu and beverage recommendations and suggestively selling


• Strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment


• Ability to prioritize, stay focused, and respond to guest needs


• Dependable, team-oriented, and willing to jump in wherever help is needed


• High school diploma or equivalent preferred


• English-speaking or bilingual


• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and frequently bend, reach, lift, and carry


• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs. without assistance
