Job Overview

Food Runner position at Residence Inn by Marriott Berkeley, located in Downtown Berkeley, CA. The role supports dining service by efficiently running food to tables, preparing service stations, and maintaining cleanliness and stock throughout meal periods. This is a nighttime intensive position primarily on dinner shift hours.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate ability to be a team player.
• Run food to table in a timely and efficient manner.
• Set up and clear tables, stock all service stations and assist servers with table service to ensure total guest satisfaction.
• Quickly clear dirty table settings and prepare table for resetting.
• Promptly and consistently reset all service-ware as prescribed.
• Maintain stock and cleanliness of stations for all meal periods with necessary equipment including silverware, linen and condiments.
• Serve guests with beverages, breads and butter to begin their dining experience and replenish as necessary.
• Practice 'Teamwork' and 'Clean as you go' policies.
• Transport all dirty tableware from dining room to dishwashing area for proper cleaning.
• Attend monthly departmental meetings.
• Memorize table numbers and seat numbers of the dining room and bar.
• Follow opening & closing side work sheet for food runner position.
• Demonstrate Superior Teamwork Skills - this position interfaces with many different members of the team.
• Always provide the highest quality of service to guests.
• Perform all other duties deemed necessary by management.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work a flexible shift schedule to include weekdays, weekends, AM, PM, split shifts, and holidays.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Thorough knowledge of menus.

Compensation

Compensation: $19.18 - $19.18 per hour.
