Job summary

Pyramid Global Hospitality is seeking a food runner for the Berkeley Residence Inn to assist servers, clear and reset tables, and transport dishware during dinner service. The role emphasizes teamwork, guest focus, and efficient service in a fast-paced hotel setting.

The position requires the ability to carry trays up to 30 pounds, a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays, and a strong customer-service mindset. Compensation begins at $20.00 per hour in Berkeley, CA.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate your ability to be a team player.
• Run food to table in a timely and efficient manner.
• Set up and clear tables, stock all service stations and assist servers with table service to ensure total guest satisfaction.
• Quickly clear dirty table settings and prepare table for resetting.
• Promptly and consistently reset all service-ware as prescribed.
• Maintain stock and cleanliness of stations for all meal periods with necessary equipment including silverware, linen and condiments.
• Serve guests with beverages, breads and butter to begin their dining experience and replenish as necessary.
• Practice "Teamwork" and "Clean as you go" policies.
• Transport all dirty tableware from dining room to dishwashing area for proper cleaning.
• Attend monthly departmental meetings.
• Memorize table numbers and seat numbers of the dining room and bar.
• Follow opening & closing side work sheet for food runner position
• Demonstrate Superior Teamwork Skills- this position interfaces with many different members of the team.
• Always provide the highest quality of service to guests.
• Perform all other duties deemed necessary by management.

What are we looking for?

• Able to carry trays and move items weighing up to 30 pounds.
• Must be able to work a flexible shift schedule to include weekdays, weekends, AM, PM, split shifts, and holidays. This is a nighttime intensive position working primarily dinner shift hours.
• Strong customer service skills.
