Job summary

AVMAC LLC is hiring an A/C Worker CA to service and inspect F/A-18 aircraft at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in San Diego, CA. The role involves hands-on maintenance, component repairs, and record-keeping to ensure airworthiness and readiness.

The position requires 4+ years with USN/USMC F/A-18, base access, and the ability to obtain Plane Captain qualification within 90 days. Medical and other benefits are offered; pay is hourly at $46.13.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain access to the base and all necessary facilities.
• Minimum four (4) years’ experience with USN/USMC F/A-18 Aircraft preferable.
• Must be able to obtain Plane Captain qualification within 90 days.
• Knowledge and use of special tools/equipment required to perform assigned maintenance tasks is mandatory.
• Must be able to meet physical requirements and have a valid driver license.
• Ability to read and interpret technical publications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.

Responsibilities

• Make repairs to F/A-18 aircraft following orders of more senior technicians.
• Replace or repair worn or damaged components such as carburetors, alternators, magnetos, fuel controls, fuel pumps, oil pumps, and engine mounted gearboxes; remove engine, inspect parts, and reinstall.
• Perform preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections.
• Service engines and airframe components, including flushing crankcase, cleaning screens and filters, greasing moving parts, and checking brakes.
• Enter maintenance records and verify the work performed.
• May specialize in structural, precision, and functional spare parts and assemblies or engine repair.
• Perform other qualified duties as assigned.
