Job summary

AVMAC LLC in San Diego, CA is seeking an A/C Worker to perform maintenance, inspection, and repair of F/A-18 aircraft on Marine Corps Air Station Miramar.

The role requires US citizenship, four years of USN/USMC F/A-18 experience, ability to obtain Plane Captain qualification within 90 days, and the capability to work onsite with hand tools and testing equipment. The position pays $46.13 per hour and offers medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, PTO, and a 401(k).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain access to the base.
• Minimum four (4) years’ experience with USN/USMC F/A-18 Aircraft.
• Must be able to obtain Plane Captain qualification within 90 days.
• Knowledge and use of special tools/equipment required to perform assigned maintenance tasks.
• Must be able to meet physical requirements and have a valid driver's license.
• US Citizenship required due to the nature of the work.

Responsibilities

• Make repairs to F/A-18 aircraft following orders of more senior technicians.
• Replace or repair worn or damaged components, such as carburetors, alternators, magnetos, fuel controls, fuel pumps, oil pumps, and engine mounted gearboxes, and compressor bleed valves using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment; removing engine from aircraft, using hoist or forklift truck, disassembling and inspecting parts for wear, cracks, security, or other defects, and repairing or replacing defective engine parts and reassembles and installs engine in F/A-18 aircraft.
• Performs preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections.
• Performs miscellaneous duties to service aircraft, including flushing crankcase, cleaning screens and filters, greasing moving parts, and checking brakes.
• Enters in the maintenance records description of the work performed and verify the work was performed satisfactorily, may service engines and airframe components at line station making repairs, short of overhaul, required to keep aircraft in safe operating condition,
• May specialize in work, repair and modification of structural, precision, and functional spare parts and assemblies, and may specialize in engine repair.
• Perform other qualified duties as assigned.
