Job summary

Lockheed Martin is seeking an experienced Pilot Instructor to join the team at Tyndall AFB, FL, shaping the next generation of F‑35 pilots. You will instruct military pilots using FMS/DMRT, maintain qualifications, and support training syllabi.

The role requires final security clearance, 1000+ hours fighter time, and former IP experience. Travel to CONUS/OCONUS sites may be required; flexible hours to match customer schedules.

Qualifications

• Final Transferable Secret security clearance required.
• Special Access Program (SAP) access ability needed.
• Minimum 1000 hours Fighter Flight Time in 4th/5th generation multi‑role fighters.
• Former Instructor Pilot (IP) experience required.
• Experience in Military Pilot Academic and Simulator Training.
• Operational experience with advanced sensor systems (NVS, LANTIRN, Helmet Mounted Cueing).
• Able to work with cross‑functional teams and stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to military pilots using FMS/DMRT focusing on flight procedures, tactics, and qualification maintenance.
• Operate the Instructor Operating Station to deliver training and support pilot development.
• Serve as SME for pilot training and tactics development; recommend courseware updates.
• Collaborate with Lockheed Martin team at Tyndall AFB to meet F‑35 training objectives.
• Support Lockheed Martin initiatives, programs, and policies as directed.
• Develop deep understanding of F‑35 systems and procedures to provide expert instruction.
• Stay current with updates to F‑35 training programs and policies.
