Job summary

NAVAIR is seeking a qualified engineer to provide day-to-day technical oversight of branch and subordinate engineers, guiding resolutions of complex engineering problems and ensuring safe, reliable systems.

The role coordinates critical tasks such as mishaps, investigations, hazard assessments, configuration management, and airworthiness/safety reviews, analyzes service life adjustments for aircraft/weapons, and prepares formal correspondence and technical reports for leadership.

Qualifications

• Provide day-to-day technical oversight of branch/subordinate engineers.
• Determine approaches to resolve complex engineering problems.
• Coordinate mishaps, engineering investigations, hazard assessments, configuration management, and airworthiness/safety assessments.
• Analyze adjustments to service life internals for aircraft/weapons and equipment.
• Prepare correspondence, technical reports, and instructions for leadership submission.
