Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior cybersecurity engineering professional to lead information system security engineering activities for air system and ground support information systems. You will capture and refine security requirements, integrate them into system designs, and implement secure architectures while ensuring compliance with DoD mandates.

The role requires active DoD clearance, 5+ years of related experience, and strong leadership in securing complex defense IT environments.

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance required; must be able to obtain Top Secret/SCI
• U.S. citizenship required
• 5+ years of related experience
• 5+ years of experience designing and developing organizational information systems or upgrading legacy systems
• Experience applying software engineering methodologies, system/security engineering principles, secure design, secure architecture, and secure coding techniques
• 1+ year of practical airframe/weapon system security experience in secure network and system design, analysis, procedure/test generation, test execution, and implementation of weapons system security mechanisms
• 5 years of experience in system security Assessment & Authorization (A&A)
• 5 years of experience in Vulnerability Assessment and/or Risk Analysis
• DoD 8140 Intermediate certification required
• TS/SCI preferred

Responsibilities

• Conduct information system security engineering activities
• Capture and refine Aircraft System and Ground Support security requirements
• Integrate security requirements into Air System and ground support information systems through security architecture, design, development, and configuration
• Implement security requirements using software engineering methodologies, system/security engineering principles, secure design, secure architecture, and secure coding techniques
• Ensure Air Vehicle and Ground Support information systems include required security features and safeguards
• Provide daily cybersecurity engineering support
• Oversee cybersecurity-related deliverables
• Verify Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) resolution and continuous monitoring activities
• Ensure Security Authorization Packages (SAP) are accurate, complete, and delivered to government oversight
• Witness dry-run compliance testing for Test Readiness Reviews (TRR)
• Manage embedded resources and level of effort
• Train and supplement other ISSEs/IASAEs and provide counsel to DCI leadership
• Support Air System, Flight Test Systems, Program Office PMOs, and Functional Teams
• Interpret requirements into compliant security designs aligned with SEMP, CS KPPs, CSE requirements, and DoW cybersecurity mandates
• Develop Air System Cybersecurity Policies and Instructions for program-wide issuance by the F-35 CISO
• Provide engineering and architectural expertise for interoperability, security, and functional performance parameters
• Provide team leadership to other ISSEs/IASAEs on the contract

• Skills in Air Systems, Certification and Accreditation (C&A), Information Systems Security Management, and Security Vulnerability Assessments


• TS/SCI preferred
