Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a Journeyman Cybersecurity Engineer to support a multinational capability linking national Secret networks and services. Based at Fort Meade, you will perform vulnerability assessments and RMF decisions using ESS Trellix and ACAS, and mitigate vulnerabilities to ensure system security.

You will identify intrusion evidence, investigate cyber incidents, recover data, and define procedures with the team to support secure IT infrastructures and applications.

Qualifications

• 0 years with Bachelor's in a related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent with 4 years relevant experience.
• 3 years of IT security experience.
• Active Secret Security Clearance; US Citizenship.
• Experience with ESS Trellix and ACAS scanning for vulnerability assessments and RMF decisions.
• Experience mitigating and remediating vulnerabilities.
• Experience in or for the military preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; attention to detail.

Job description

• Work as a Journeyman Cybersecurity Engineer supporting a multinational capability connecting national Secret networks and services
• Perform vulnerability assessments and support Risk Management Framework decisions using ESS (Trellix) and ACAS scanning
• Mitigate and remediate vulnerabilities to ensure information system security
• Identify network computer intrusion evidence and perpetrators
• Investigate computer fraud and electronic crimes
• Crack files and system passwords
• Detect steganography
• Recover deleted, fragmented, and corrupted data from digital media
• Define procedures for securing technology with other team members
• Assist the project manager with project plans and functional requirements
• Support delivery of secured IT infrastructures and applications

Requirements

• 0 years relevant experience with a Bachelor's in a related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 4 years relevant experience
• 3 years of IT security experience
• Applicable common Cybersecurity certification(s), such as CISSP or Security+
• Experience in securing information systems, network infrastructures, or other related technologies
• In-depth technical knowledge of up-to-date methods for securing information sources and delivery mechanisms
• Active Secret Security Clearance
• US Citizen
• Experience with ESS (Trellix) and ACAS scanning for vulnerability assessments and RMF decisions
• Experience mitigating and remediating vulnerabilities
• Experience working in or for the military preferred
• Expertise in multi-national combatant command-level military exercises, coalition networking, and/or Mission Partner Environments preferred
• Experience or interest in materials, material applications, defense systems, and/or supply chains preferred
• Knowledge of engineering principles, methods, and techniques preferred
• Effective data analysis and problem-solving skills; attention to detail preferred
• Effective communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills preferred
• May require ability to climb ladders, tolerate confined spaces, and work amid extreme temperature variances
