Job summary

Total Vision is a group of optometry practices operating in California and experiencing growth, seeking dedicated team members to deliver world-class eye-care results for patients and communities.

You will assist patients with frame and lens selection, educate on options, verify insurance, and support the office with repairs and tasks. Lab experience in edging and finishing is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 2–3 years related experience.
• Strong customer service and sales skills.
• Ability to learn and use multiple computer systems.
• Optical knowledge is preferred or required.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with proper frame and lens selection.
• Educates patients on lens options for clear lenses, sunglasses, and other needs.
• Ensures proper fit and measurements for all lens types including single vision, bifocal, progressive and others.
• Educates patients on benefits of having multiple pairs of glasses to fill all their eye care needs.
• Verifies patient insurance and explains their benefits.
• Dispenses glasses and makes sure patients know about adaptation to new prescriptions, lens types, etc.
• Helps patients with repairs and adjustments.
• Ensures patient phone calls are returned in a timely manner and patient is informed of any delays with eye wear purchased.
• Assists with any other tasks that need to be completed in the office.
• Lab experience in edging, finishing and surfacing preferred.
