Job summary

Eyeglass World in Indianapolis is seeking an Optical Specialist to join our in-store team. You will provide confident, stylish service from pre-exam support to eyewear readiness, fitting and pickup, ensuring every customer interaction is seamless and on-brand.

The role blends customer connection, optical support and finishing excellence to deliver high‑quality experiences. Candidates should have 1+ year experience in optical, retail or customer service and a High School Diploma.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (Required).
• 1+ year experience in optical, retail, sales, or customer service (Required).
• Strong multitasking, time management and organizational skills (Required).
• Clear communication and the ability to educate customers effectively (Required).
• Ability to prioritize customer satisfaction at every interaction (Required).
• Support store team in shared goals (Preferred).

Responsibilities

• Deliver warm, confident, and personalized service at every stage of the visit.
• Guide customers through eyewear selection, final fitting, and product education.
• Ensure customers leave feeling confident in both their eyewear and their experience.
• Assist with patient flow and pre-exam screenings to support Optometrists.
• Help ensure smooth transitions between exam, finish, and pickup moments.
• Perform finishing work including final adjustments, inspections and quality checks.
• Prepare orders for pickup and deliver polished, brand aligned handoff.
• Support order entry, tracking, and timely completion.
