Role Description The Eyewear Consultant is a part-time, on-site role based in Herndon, VA. This position is responsible for guiding clients in selecting frames and lenses that suit their prescription needs, lifestyle, face shape, and personal style. Day-to-day tasks include greeting clients, conducting eyewear fittings, explaining lens options and coatings, and ensuring accurate measurements for orders. The Eyewear Consultant will collaborate with eye care professionals, handle basic adjustments and minor repairs, and assist with merchandising and display of eyewear products. The role also involves processing transactions, maintaining product knowledge, and providing clear, courteous answers to client questions.

Qualifications

• Client service and communication skills, including the ability to listen actively, explain options clearly, and interact professionally with a diverse clientele.
• Sales and retail abilities, such as product recommendation, upselling appropriate lens features, and supporting a positive, goal-oriented store environment.
• Visual and style awareness to help clients choose frames that complement facial features, personal style, and brand image.
• Basic technical skills, including frame adjustment, simple eyewear repairs, and accurate measurement for lenses and fittings.
• Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple clients, maintain displays, and support smooth daily store operations.
