Job summary

Key Whitman Eye Center - Plano, TX is seeking a Diagnostic Technician to work closely with clinic physicians performing basic to complex eye testing. This role supports patient flow, administers topical meds, and ensures clean, prepared rooms and equipment.

Strong communication and detail orientation are essential for accurate results. Candidates with healthcare exposure or ophthalmic experience are preferred, CPR is a plus, and bilingual abilities are advantageous.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Healthcare or patient-care experience preferred.
• Ophthalmic experience is a plus, but training available.
• CPR certification preferred, but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bilingual skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic testing of the eye using tests such as OCT macula, OCT optic nerves, Lenstar, ORB scan, Optos Fundus photos, EPIC (OPD and glare), HVF.
• Answer calls and emails; triage, RX refills, and patient questions.
• Maintain and sterilize exam room and equipment; operate tests accurately.
• Assist Technicians and Scribes as needed and learn EMR systems.
• Administer topical ophthalmic medications and understand basic pharmacology.
