Job summary

The America's Best brand continues to grow with over 1,000 stores, and the Optometric Technician - Medical Assistant role is full-time with training provided; no optical experience or certification is required.

The optometric technician helps keep patient flow efficient by conducting pre-screenings and testing before the Doctor’s examination and supporting the doctor’s care.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate clearly with patients.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced retail/medical environment.
• Willingness to learn ocular terminology and basic testing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-screenings and testing prior to the Doctor’s examination.
• Assist the optometrist to keep patient flow efficient and accurate patient information.
• Explain preliminary examination types to patients and review prescriptions when applicable.
• Maintain accuracy of patient paperwork and ensure proper operation of equipment.
