You will support the optometrist with pre-screenings, testing, and patient flow while maintaining a professional office environment. No optical experience is required as training is provided and Sundays are off.

Qualifications

• No optical experience required; training provided.
• Assist with pre-screenings and testing prior to doctor exams.
• Explain preliminary examinations to patients.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high quality patient care.
• Maintain a professional atmosphere in the office and pretest room.
• Understand ocular terminology and diseases and ocular abbreviations.
• Explain types of preliminary examinations to patients.
• Complete paperwork and perform testing prior to doctor examination.
• Promote visual field testing and retinal screenings.
• Perform exam pre-screening.
• Review prescriptions or patient information and consult when necessary.
• Maintain Doctor’s and pre-test equipment.
