Responsibilities

• Prescreen patients before they see the optometrist, including diagnostic tests.
• Gather patient medical history and communicate with doctors, staff, and patients.
• Answer calls, greet patients, and schedule appointments.
• Educate patients on insurance coverage and vision benefits.
• Train patients on contact lens use and care.
• Obtain insurance authorizations and verify benefits.
• Post exam fees, co-pays, and product charges accurately.
• Document exams and procedures as performed by the doctor.
• Coordinate patient scheduling and monitor patient flow in the office.
