Job summary

Visions Optometry is seeking an Optometric Technician I to support our eye care team. You will assist optometrists from pre-screening to post-exam follow-up, and help educate patients about vision benefits in a friendly, patient-focused environment.

This role emphasizes strong communication, organization, and teamwork as you coordinate appointments, document exams, and guide patients through lens and contact lens training.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in customer service (optometric experience preferred but not required!)
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to educate and connect with patients
• Strong organizational and time management abilities—you'll be multitasking in a fast-paced environment
• Team-oriented with a passion for self-improvement and a desire to learn new skills
• Detail-focused and capable of documenting patient exams and procedures with accuracy
• Flexibility to accommodate changing schedules as needed and a proactive attitude toward team success

Responsibilities

• Assist optometrists in delivering outstanding patient care, from pre-screening to post-exam follow-up
• Perform diagnostic tests, gather patient medical histories, and assist in educating patients about their vision benefits
• Guide patients in contact lens training, insurance verification, and scheduling their next visit
• Ensure smooth patient flow by coordinating appointments and managing office communications
• Work closely with your team to meet individual and collective goals for optimal patient care and satisfaction
