Job summary

Eyehealth-Northwest- in Portland, OR is seeking a medical scribe to accompany the physician during patient exams and transcribe exam notes into the electronic medical records system.

You will help ensure an accurate, complete medical record for each patient and support patient flow, communicating clearly with patients and healthcare teams while upholding HIPPA and OSHA guidelines in a professional manner.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 6 months' medical scribe experience preferred.
• Approximately 1 year experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Transcribes comprehensive notes during patient exams and documents in the EMR.
• Updates medication module and enters alerts as needed.
• Documents all procedures and diagnoses in the EHR.
• Maintains patient flow and assists with exam room readiness.
• Assists with prescriptions and patient education as directed by the physician.
• Facilitates referrals and coordinates with surgery scheduling.
