Job summary

AEG Vision is seeking a part-time Patient Care Coordinator to manage front desk operations and optimize patient flow. You will coordinate across care teams, greet patients, handle scheduling, and help ensure a high-quality patient experience.

Responsibilities include verifying insurance, maintaining EMR data accuracy, and communicating effectively with patients regarding wait times and next steps. This role emphasizes teamwork, confidentiality, and a patient-centered approach.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer literacy and ability to learn practice management systems (EMR).
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with a focus on patient-centered service.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
• Ability to proactively identify issues and contribute to solutions in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to maintain patient and practice confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and serve as the primary contact for patient interactions.
• Answer calls, respond to inquiries, and manage emails professionally.
• Schedule patient appointments and support provider schedule optimization.
• Execute appointment confirmations and reminders to reduce no-shows.
• Verify insurance eligibility and patient demographics; enter data in EMR.
• Explain insurance coverage and patient financial responsibility.
• Prepare patient charts and documentation ahead of visits.
• Record charges and payments in EMR; allocate balances and assist with submissions.
• Run reports to ensure charges are billed and up to date.
• Monitor daily patient flow and adjust as needed for efficiency.
• Communicate wait times and next steps to patients.
• Coordinate with clinical and optical teams for seamless care.
• Support recall and reactivation outreach for retention.
