Katzen Eye Group in Lutherville, MD is seeking a Full Time Patient Services Representative/Medical Front Desk Specialist. This role greets patients, verifies insurance, manages appointments, and ensures accurate records in a busy ophthalmology/optometry setting.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of front desk or medical administrative experience, a compassionate demeanor, and strong communication skills. Excellent hours with no late evenings, major holidays, or Sundays, plus a robust benefits

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must be compassionate and can establish confidence and trust with patients.
• Must be able to remain calm and professional under pressure or stress.
• Highly energetic with a positive attitude.
• Strong attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and also independently.
• One or more years’ experience in a medical practice preferred.
• Knowledge of medical and vision insurances preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge required.
• Experience with NextGen, Microsoft, Clearwave preferred.

Responsabilités

• Greet and welcome patients and visitors upon arrival to clinic.
• Follow all practice policies for check in and check out.
• Utilize data collection methods including paper, electronic, kiosk, and web-based applications.
• Verify patient demographic and insurance information and update as needed.
• Confirm insurance eligibility and active coverage.
• Calculate and collect patient co-pays, deductibles, and balances.
• Schedule return appointments and set reminder notifications.
• Assist doctor, staff, patients and visitors professionally.
• Maintain confidentiality of doctor, staff and patient information.
• Keep reception area clean and organized.
• Assist with inventory of retail items if applicable.
• Handle inbound and outbound phone calls with proper etiquette.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
• Perform duties professionally and courteously.
• Accept incoming packages/mail and route to internal recipients.
• Willing to travel between locations to support front office operations.
• Willing to work early mornings, late evenings, and weekends as required.
• Other duties as assigned.
