Job summary

Shopko Optical in Minnesota is seeking a General Manager in Training to support daily store operations, dispensing eyewear, patient care, and driving financial performance. You will assist with hiring, coaching, and supervising the store team and lead the team during the General Manager’s absence.

The role emphasizes on‑the‑job training, certification opportunities, and building relationships in local communities, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service and achieving sales

Qualifications

• ABO/Shopko OCE Certification required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Optician experience preferred.
• Supervisory experience with strong customer service focus (retail/optical).
• Able to analyze financial data and formulate improvement plans.
• Solid organizational and planning skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead team to execute merchandise, operational and customer service strategies to deliver sales and profitability.
• Model service and patient care to maximize satisfaction and business results.
• Assist with hiring, training, and performance management of teammates.
• Assist with store scheduling and HR policy compliance.
• Dispense eyewear according to professional standards and manage key store tasks.
