Job summary

Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary is seeking a capable optometry support technician to perform patient testing, contact lens instruction, and administrative assistance in the Optometry Department. Under supervision, you will help with front desk duties, room setup, and infection control practices.

You will work with EPIC EHR and diagnostic equipment, ensuring patient confidentiality and smooth workflow, with a 40-hour onsite schedule at 541 Main Street in Weymouth, MA.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Optometry/Ophthalmology experience 1–2 years preferred.
• Familiarity with EPIC EHR and diagnostic equipment is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform contact lens instruction, insertion and removal on patients.
• Assist with front desk duties and patient check-in processes.
• Set up and clean examination rooms per infection control standards.
• Ensure equipment is functioning and report issues promptly.
• Conduct auto-refraction and topography as part of testing.
• Maintain supplies for exam rooms and patient records in the EHR.
