Job summary

McFarland Clinic in Marshalltown is seeking an energetic optometric assistant to join our team. You will prepare patients for exams, take visual acuity, perform basic screening tests, educate patients, refill medications, and support the ophthalmology team in a busy clinic.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ophthalmic experience preferred but not required.
• Excellent customer service and multitasking.
• Keyboard and computer experience.
• One year of medical office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for exams.
• Takes visual acuity and performs basic screening tests.
• Educates patients, refills medications and performs ancillary tests.
• Schedules patients and answers phone calls.
