Job summary

Hospital Authority is seeking an Eye Care Assistant at the eye care unit within the Ophthalmology Department. The role supports clinicians in ophthalmic procedures, assessments, and patient care in a hospital setting.

Entry requires F.5/S.5 or equivalent with HA Corporate PCA training; strong English/Chinese communication and basic MS Office skills are needed. It is a full‑time post with on‑site duties and a structured on‑the‑job training pathway.

Qualifications

• Completed F.5/ S.5 or equivalent with five subjects.
• 5 HKCEE subjects including English and Chinese; or HKDSE as specified.
• Completed HA Corporate PCA Eye Care Training Program.
• Good command of English and Chinese, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Assist ophthalmic clinicians in procedures in consultation, treatment, or operating rooms.
• Perform ophthalmic investigations and measurements (BP, glucose, IOP, imaging, acuity, etc.).
• Disinfect and maintain ophthalmic equipment and the work area.
• Support patient flow, education, and clinical audit tasks as required.
• Assist in inventory of medical consumables and equipment.
• Undertake other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
