Job summary

PIH Health is seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant to perform patient-oriented procedures under supervision in a multi-location ophthalmology practice in California. The role may require travel to different locations and quiet, precise patient care.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent with 5 years in ophthalmology, strong medical terminology knowledge, excellent organization, and typing speed. Bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and 5 years ophthalmology experience.
• Ability to stay composed in fast paced situations.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, infection control and safety.
• Bilingual in Spanish helpful.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient-oriented procedures under supervision of the office manager, admin manager or practitioner.
• Travel to different practice locations as needed.
• Maintain infection control and safety in the ophthalmic setting.
• Utilize practice management and EHR systems for patient data and scheduling.
