Job summary

EY Parthenon in Chicago is seeking a Manager in Deals - Transaction Analytics to drive data analytics‑driven solutions for buy‑side and sell‑side due diligence. You will query data repositories, generate periodic reports, and identify patterns to support client decisions in fast‑moving markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Data Analytics or related field with 5 years of post-baccalaureate experience, or a Master's with 3 years.
• 3 years of experience leveraging accounting skills, including 1 year in M&A environments.
• 3 years of experience in data analysis for financial due diligence and/or audit.
• 3 years of experience with MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word for data analysis and reporting.
• 3 years of experience with data visualization, data management, analytics platforms, statistical packages, or programming.

EY Parthenon – Deals – Transaction Analytics – Manager (Multiple Positions) – 1722452, Ernst & Young U.S. LLP, Chicago, IL.

Provide data analytics‑driven solutions that enhance client decision‑making for buy‑side and sell‑side financial due diligence. Produce financial and/or market intelligence by querying data repositories and generating periodic reports. Devise methods for identifying data patterns and trends in available information sources. Analyze large and complex datasets and build sophisticated transaction‑driven analysis to address client challenges in fast‑changing markets. Present findings to clients and leadership in a way that is easily understood by transaction professionals at all levels. Use data to solve complex challenges and research industry trends and technologies, including seasonality and cyclicality on cash flow requirements to provide knowledge and insight to clients.

Manage and motivate teams of professionals with diverse skills and backgrounds. Consistently deliver quality client services by monitoring progress. Demonstrate in‑depth technical capabilities and professional knowledge. Maintain long‑term client relationships and networks. Cultivate business development opportunities.

Full‑time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm.

Minimum Requirements

• Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Data Analytics, or related field plus 5 years of progressive, post‑baccalaureate related work experience. Alternatively, a Master’s degree in the same fields plus 3 years of related work experience.
• Must have 3 years of experience leveraging accounting skills, of which 1 year must be in a mergers and acquisition‑oriented environment.
• Must have 3 years of combined experience analysing data for financial due diligence and/or audit.
• Must have 3 years of experience working with MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, or other software to perform data analysis intelligence and reporting functions.
• Must have 3 years of experience with one or a combination of the following:
• Data visualization: D3js, Tableau, PowerBI, Spotfire, and/or related.
• Data Management: Hadoop, SQL, Alteryx, and/or related.
• Analytics Platforms: SAS, Azure, and/or related.
• Statistical Packages: SPSS, Minitab, and/or related.
• Programming languages: Python, R, and/or related.
• Requires domestic travel up to 50% in order to serve client needs.
• Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training, or experience.
