Job summary

Kobelco Aluminum Products & Extrusions Inc. in Bowling Green, KY is seeking a Production Engineer to help implement and maintain ISO 9001 and IATF16949 quality systems, support product launches, and drive cost improvements.

You will manage layout, process improvements, and equipment efficiency to enhance yields and overall product quality. Ideal candidates bring a mechanical or industrial engineering background, 2+ years in manufacturing, and knowledge of lean methods, Kaizen, and 5S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in a similar manufacturing environment.
• Preferred experience in extrusion processes.
• Experience with heat transfer mechanics and non-ferrous materials.

Responsibilities

• Support implementation and maintenance of ISO 9001 and IATF16949 quality systems and audits.
• Assist product launches and manage workplace layout, process improvements, and cost reductions.
• Improve equipment efficiency, workflow, scrap reduction, and product quality.
• Develop plans for OEE, yields, uptime, cycle times; optimize product flow.
• Lead cost reduction activities and participate in Kaizen and 5S.
• Travel on site to assist at customer locations.
• Ensure PPAP procedures, control plans, inspection standards compliance.
