Job summary

Custom Staffing Services, Inc. is seeking an Extrusion Operator to join our Evansville, IN manufacturing team. You will operate extrusion equipment to produce plastic products, maintain quality, and support safe, efficient production with attention to detail.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of manufacturing experience, extrusion exposure, and a valid forklift license. The shift is 12 hours (Wed, Thu, Fri, 6p-6a) with pay at $22.00 per hour and a collaborative, safety-focused work environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 12-hour shifts Wed, Thu, and Fri 6p-6a.
• Pay rate $22.00/hr.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Must have extrusion experience.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license for operation of a forklift.
• Previous forklift experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive fork trucks and participate in housekeeping for the work area.
• Set up one or two extruders to run products per standard operating conditions with minimal downtime and loss of product.
• Monitor and troubleshoot during the extrusion process.
• If safety or quality issues arise, stop the process and participate in problem-solving with shift supervisor, maintenance, safety and other operators.
• Complete product turnarounds, including cleaning the extruder barrel and screws, the feeder, the pelletizer, the classifier, the reclaimer system, the automatic bagger, and totes to prevent contamination.
• Maintain proper records, including run logs, feed blends, totes, packaging reports, work orders, and logbooks; keep the on-coming operator informed.
• Review and understand policies in standard operating procedures, hazardous communication and waste disposal procedures.
• Adhere to safety/health policies and participate in safety programs; report hazards to management.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating extrusion machinery to produce high-quality plastic products, ensuring efficient production processes, and maintaining safety standards. This role requires mechanical aptitude, familiarity with plastics extrusion processes, and experience with various manufacturing tools and equipment. The Extrusion Operator plays a vital role in maintaining product quality and optimizing operational efficiency within our production facility.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Assume personal responsibility for complying with all safety/health related policies and procedures, participate in company sponsored safety programs and activities, and report to management those conditions or actions by employees or others that might create a hazard to themselves or others in the plant.
