Job summary

Simona-PMC, a plastic extrusion company in Findlay, Ohio, is seeking an Extrusion Operator in Training. You will assist with setting up and running extrusion equipment and learn to operate and maintain various extrusion machines while ensuring quality per specifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree a plus.
• Hands-on mechanical/technical aptitude in a manufacturing setting.

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist experienced Extrusion Operators in setting up and running extrusion equipment.
• Learn operation and maintenance of extrusion machines, including change-overs and setup.
• Monitor and adjust machine controls to ensure quality and compliance with specifications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical or technical issues that may arise.
• Record production data and maintain logs in the Epicor system.
• Follow SOPs and company policies; develop extrusion process skills.

Title: Extrusion Operator in Training

Reports To:

Production Lead

We are a plastic extrusion company located in the Tall Timbers Industrial Park in Findlay, Ohio. We specialize primarily in the manufacturing of plastic sheet products used in recreational vehicles, agricultural, home remodel, pool and spa industries.

We currently work 8 hour shifts covering 1st, 2nd and 3rd shift.

At times there is a 12 hour shift option, running four days a week.

• 1st shift: 7:00am - 3:00pm, Monday thru Friday
• 2nd shift: 3:00pm 11:00pm, Monday thru Friday
• 3rd shift: 11:00pm - 7:00am, Sunday thru Thursday

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist experienced Extrusion Operators in setting up and running extrusion equipment
• Learn how to operate and maintain various types of extrusion machines, including performing change-overs, tear-downs, die cleaning, and set-ups.
• Monitor and adjust machine controls to ensure quality and compliance with specifications
• Troubleshoot and resolve any mechanical or technical issues that may arise
• Accurately record production data and maintain production logs in the Epicor system
• Follow all standard operating procedures and company policies
• Continuously learn and develop new skills in extrusion manufacturing processes

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent; Technical degree a plus.
• Prior experience which demonstrates "hands-on" mechanical/technical aptitude, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Must wear proper personal protection equipment while on the manufacturing floor.
• Ability to stand on the factory floor for long periods.
• Climbing stairs.
• Ability to lift, pull, push, or carry 50 lbs., crouch, bend, stand and be alert.
• Able to perform equipment maintenance tasks that may require standing, bending, stooping, reaching, squatting, kneeling, or twisting.
• Requires full range of motion of arms, hands, and fingers to reach, grasp, hold, push or pull, twist, and work with tools.
• Move two or more limbs together (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while remaining in place.
• Make repeated movements of full body.
• React quickly.
• 40+ hours/week to support manufacturing performance.
