Job summary

CertainTeed, a Saint-Gobain company, seeks an Operational Excellence Manager to lead world-class manufacturing improvements at the Oxford plant. You will drive NMS, productivity gains, and waste reduction, coaching pillar leaders and ensuring sustained business impact.

You will foster continuous improvement, manage plant KPIs, and deploy best practices across the network, aligning with corporate strategies and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business Administration preferred; High School Diploma or GED required.
• 5-10 years in Manufacturing, Process Engineering, or Technical Project Development required.
• 5+ years of experience leading teams required.
• Proven experience with teaching WCM methods and techniques required.
• Ability to multi-task multiple projects.

Job description

The Operational Excellence Manager is a strategic leader within the plant, accountable for defining, implementing, and driving the operational excellence process to include World Class Manufacturing (WCM) methodologies.

This position delivers measurable operational improvements by leading loss identification and eradication initiatives, coaching pillar leaders, and ensuring sustainable business impact. The Operational Excellence Manager champions cultural change, challenges the status quo and aligns improvement efforts with the company’s corporate strategies.

Essential Functions:

• Lead and drive implementation of operational excellence initiatives to deliver measurable results in Net Manufacturing Savings (NMS), productivity gains, and waste reduction.

• Facilitate Steering Committees to align safety, quality, delivery, cost and people site priorities, review progress, and ensure accountability to KPIs.

• Own and maintain the Deployment Plan and Roadmap, integrating pillar activities with the plant’s strategic objectives and drive overall project execution.

• Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Kaizen events, and problem-solving workshops to eliminate chronic losses.

• Coach and mentor pillar teams to enhance technical expertise, delivery capability and drive overall results.

• Champion the use of performance tracking tools (e.g., Project Tracker, dashboards) to ensure transparency and informed decision-making.

• Collaborate with OPEX leadership to communicate progress, elevate barriers, and align with corporate strategies.

• Foster a culture of continuous improvement at all organizational levels.

• Share and implement best practices across the network to accelerate deployment maturity.

• Own site 5S program to ensure all areas of the plant meet standards.

• Execute, deliver and sustain NMS- Net Manufacturing Savings improvements and validated cost savings.

• Reduction of chronic losses and measurable improvement in key plant KPIs.

• Enhanced engagement, capability, and support for pillar teams and engineers.

• Lead efforts of activities from the plant’s internal assessment with OPEX and TIP NA support to ensure implementation of actions are effective.
