Job summary

Crystal Finishing Systems, Inc. in Mosinee, WI seeks an Extrusion Department Manager to lead the extrusion team and oversee daily manufacturing operations. This role focuses on safety, quality, and productivity in a fast-paced environment.

You will coach and develop staff, manage scheduling and performance, and collaborate with Maintenance, Engineering, HR, and Safety to drive continuous improvement while maintaining a clean, customer-ready department.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment or a relevant management degree.
• Proven ability to lead, develop, and motivate a team.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing, production, and quality processes.
• Experience reading blueprints and part drawings.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Do

• Lead department employees and oversee daily manufacturing operations.
• Maintain a safe work environment by reinforcing safety procedures, training, PPE requirements, and accident prevention.
• Monitor production, downtime, efficiency, and quality to ensure department goals and customer expectations are met.
• Coach, train, develop, and motivate employees while providing clear expectations and accountability.
• Manage employee scheduling, time records, overtime, time-off requests, performance feedback, and corrective action as needed.
• Partner with Maintenance, Engineering, Human Resources, Safety, and other departments to resolve production and employee-related concerns.
• Maintain a clean, organized, customer-ready department while proactively addressing housekeeping and equipment concerns.
• Identify and support continuous improvement opportunities related to safety, quality, productivity, processes, and cost.

Qualifications: What We’re Looking For

• 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment and/or an Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a management-related field.
• Proven ability to lead, develop, and motivate a team.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing, production, and quality processes.
• Experience reading blueprints and part drawings.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, make decisions independently, and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of finishing processes and painting aluminum is preferred.
• Experience using small hand tools is beneficial.

Work Environment

This position works primarily in a manufacturing environment and may have exposure to substances associated with painting and waste treatment operations. Required PPE must be worn as applicable, and flexibility in hours may be necessary to support production needs.
