Job summary

IPEX is seeking an Extrusion Machine Operator for our PVC facility in Pineville, NC. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and continuous improvement while operating extrusion equipment to produce PVC pipe.

The successful candidate will focus on preventing defects, maintaining production targets, and supporting plant safety programs. This is a 12-hour night shift with a 7% shift premium and bi-weekly pay.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math calculations.
• Knowledge of measurement systems and measuring devices.
• Previous manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
• Plastics manufacturing experience considered an asset.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Experience using tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Team-oriented with a commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Operate extrusion equipment and production lines used to manufacture PVC pipe.
• Perform quality inspections using tape measures, calipers, and micrometers.
• Notify Supervisors and Lead Hands of quality concerns, equipment issues, or unusual operating conditions.
• Package finished pipe products according to specifications and document production accurately.
• Identify, transfer, and load production materials as required.
• Use hand tools safely and effectively.
• Identify, remove, and report scrap material in accordance with work instructions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Inspect and report unsafe or hazardous conditions.
• Support Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) initiatives and plant safety programs.
• Assist with the operation of auxiliary equipment, including material loaders, vacuum systems, regrind loaders, and feeders.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
