Job summary

Amcor is seeking a Machine Operator (extrusion/conversion) in Montgomery, Alabama to operate and maintain extrusion equipment, set up lines, and ensure safety and quality in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED and at least two years in liners, strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work 12+ hour shifts, including overtime. Forklift operation may be required.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years experience in Liners.
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and write legibly in English to complete required forms and verify quality products.
• Must have good vision, eye-hand coordination, and hearing.
• Ability to adhere to Amcor's Safety, Health, and Environmental Vision, Policy, and Standards.
• Ability to work overtime, holidays, weekends, days, or nights for 12 or more hours.
• Ability to stand, sit, kneel, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and crawl for extended periods multiple times per day.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
• Must have manual dexterity involving total wrist action, twisting, pulling, and raising arms at or above shoulder height.
• Ability to operate a forklift and maintain a forklift operator license.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain machines that extrude or draw thermoplastic materials.
• Set up and operate machines per procedures and customer requirements.
• Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures.
• Monitor machinery for jams and potential failures.
• Troubleshoot process equipment.
• Perform start-up, set-up and shutdown of equipment.
• Make precise machine adjustments and line changes.
• Complete production safety and quality paperwork.
• Maintain clean and organized work area.
