Position Title:

Extrusion Operator

Location:

Roanoke, VA

Description:

Our extrusion operator role supports Mativ's extrusion line machine operation. This individual will safely and efficiently set up, start up, troubleshoot, and continuously operate extrusion line equipment.

Responsibilities:

1. Set up:
   • Read and understand schedule, BOM, and SOC
   • Perform all functions of setup: select proper tooling, install tooling, ensure correct resin
2. Start up:
   • Position controls to SOC, activate extruder and drives, test initial product, make adjustments, verify product in spec
3. Run Production:
   • Package product, troubleshoot process, perform QC tests, store finished product, validate process control, enter data, clean tooling, adhere to food safety regulations

Qualifications:

Required:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Proficient with calipers, micrometers, rulers
• Ability to read and convert measurements in Metric & US customary systems
• Basic computer and math skills
• English comprehension

Preferred:

• Forklift Certification

Position Demands:

Conditions are typical of a manufacturing environment with temperature variations, dust, fumes, odors, and potential hazards. PPE is required, including safety shoes, glasses, bump caps, gloves, and hearing protection. Physical demands include lifting up to 75 pounds, repetitive tasks, standing, sitting, reaching, and good vision.
