Job summary

Printpack Inc. seeks an experienced Extrusion Department Manager to lead daily extrusion operations at the Williamsburg, VA facility. You will drive safety, quality, and productivity while steering lean initiatives and engaging a high-performing team.

The role reports to the Plant Manager and focuses on setting long-term goals, coordinating with other departments, and ensuring consistent, efficient production in a dynamic packaging environment.

Printpack is currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of an Extrusion Department Manager in a plastic packaging manufacturing facility. This position is located in the Williamsburg, VA plant and will report to the Plant Manager. This position is responsible for managing the daily production operations of the extrusion department and for driving continuous improvement in the areas of safety, waste, quality, and productivity through the ongoing implementation of the division’s lean manufacturing initiative. A key responsibility is the overall leadership of the department to further an environment conducive to high levels of associate engagement. This position will also be responsible for helping set long-term goals for the department in order to meet business goals.

Minimum Requirements & Preferred Qualifications:
  • Requirements: A minimum of 5 years of operational/manufacturing experience.

  • Manage the production and process functions by following established production schedules to maximize the utilization of equipment and associates within the facility.
  • Improve upon existing procedures and standards, or initiate new ones, to maximize production and quality, and minimize waste, without jeopardizing safety.
  • Ensure plant safety policies and procedures are followed.
  • Provide leadership to Leads and associates.
  • Ensure all company and local policies and practices are followed in a consistent, timely, and accurate manner.
  • Provide appropriate feedback to facilitate the professional and personal development of all direct reports.
  • Address performance issues in a timely manner.
  • Support the teamwork of all internal departments working effectively together to achieve external customer satisfaction.
  • Foster an environment of associate engagement where individual associates are valued and empowered to improve their work processes.
