Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands in Rocky Mount, VA is hiring an Extrusion Operator to visually inspect extruded products, ensure length and spotting defects, and operate packaging equipment on a 2-2-3 schedule.

Must be able to read a tape measure to 16th of an inch, stand for long shifts, and work well in a team. No prior experience required; manufacturing experience is a plus and safety rules must be followed.

Qualifications

• Must read a tape measure and interpret measurements accurately.
• Related machine operation experience preferred.
• Able to stand 12-hour shifts, bend and lift as needed.
• Basic math skills required for quality checks and counts.
• Ability to read English and test product quality.
• Must read a tape measure to the 16th of an inch.
• Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
• Work independently and as part of a team to meet goals.
• Must be at least 18 years old and follow safety policies.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspect extruded product for consistent appearance and length.
• Ensure product meets defined standards for counts, packing, and labels.
• Maintain required paperwork and quality inspections online.
• Operate packaging equipment as part of production line.
• Collaborate with team to sustain safety and quality.

Job Description

Base Pay: $16 per hour

2-2-3 Work Schedule

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Extrusion Operators visually inspects extruded product for consistent appearance and length according to defined standards.

• Associate ensures product consistency and standards including but not limited to proper counts, packing patterns, and labels
• Associate maintains paperwork as required
• Performs online quality inspections
• Operates packaging equipment

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Ability to understand and follow safety polices.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
• No experience required. Manufacturing and Extrusion experience highly preferred
