Job summary

Century Fire Protection LLC in Ocala, FL is seeking a full-time Fire Extinguisher Technician to inspect, repair, and maintain fire extinguisher equipment locally. The role requires hands-on testing, dismantling, parts replacement, and recharging of extinguishers to meet safety standards.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED and up to six months of related experience or training. Physical work involves lifting up to 75 pounds in a loud facility environment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair and maintain fire extinguisher equipment.

Summary

Responsible for inspection, repair and maintenance of fire extinguisher equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Repair as well as tests fire extinguishers in repair shop, using hand tools hydrostatic test equipment.
• Dismantle extinguisher examines tubing, horns, head gaskets, cutter discs plus other parts for defects.
• Replace worn or damaged parts, using hand tools.
• Clean extinguishers as well as recharges them with materials, like soda water sulfuric acid, carbon tetrachloride, nitrogen, or patented solutions.
• Test extinguishers for conformity with legal specifications, using hydrostatic test equipment.

Education and/or Experience

High School Diploma or GED; or 0-6 months related experience or training.

Physical Demands

Employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

The employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
