Qualifications

• B.A/B.S. in Accounting is required.
• 7+ years of accounting experience in external reporting.
• CPA is required.
• 5+ years of management experience.
• Technical expertise related to GAAP and external reporting incl. SEC, business combinations, pension, intangibles, revenue recognition and SOX.

Responsibilities

• Manages the preparation of SEC filings, including Form 10-K and Form 10-Q, and notes to the financial statements.
• Review of detailed disclosures and notes, and internal control over financial reporting.
• Oversees acquisitions and divestitures accounting and associated memoranda.
• Supports Investor Relations in earnings releases and financial information.
• Manages monthly/quarterly reporting activities including restructuring analyses and cash reports.
• Develops and maintains Fortune Brands accounting policies and ensures enterprise-wide application.
• Coordinates with external and internal auditors and actuaries for regulatory filings.
• Researches technical accounting issues and monitors US GAAP/SEC developments.
• Assists in complex accounting matters including defined benefit plans and revenue recognition.
• Oversees goodwill and indefinite-lived intangible asset testing.
• Oversees definite-lived and long-lived asset testing.
• Leads strategic projects and performance reviews for direct reports.
