Job summary

Seattle Credit Union is seeking an External Mortgage Loan Officer to originate high-quality residential loans and build a robust referral network. You will support members in achieving homeownership while working with a collaborative Mortgage Lending team and competitive loan products.

This exempt role requires minimum production performance, strong regulatory knowledge, and a commitment to service excellence within a community-focused credit union.

Qualifications

• Three years of residential lending sales experience with meeting sales goals.
• Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
• Ability to analyze personal and business financial documents.
• Regulatory, policy and compliance knowledge for mortgage industry.
• Knowledge of mortgage products and programs.
• Good analytical and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Originates quality residential mortgage loans meeting investor guidelines and policy.
• Meets minimum sales production goals set by Sr. Management.
• Establishes and maintains referral sources to generate mortgage business.
• Promotes loan products through regular contact with referral sources.
• Pre-qualifies borrowers and matches with Seattle CU programs.
• Plans and participates in homebuyer seminars and related events.
• Ensures accurate loan disclosures and compliance with RESPA/Reg Z/HMDA/Reg B.
