Job summary

FAIRWINDS Credit Union in Orlando seeks an External Mortgage Loan Officer to grow our referral network, originate loans, and represent FAIRWINDS in the community. This commission-based role rewards proactive networking and strong sales skills, with a base pay plus commission.

You will build relationships with real estate agents, builders, and other professionals, manage end-to-end mortgage applications, and collaborate with processors and underwriters to close loans efficiently.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years in external mortgage lead generation and loan origination.
• Strong network and passion for building relationships within your market.
• Excellent communication, follow-through, and sales skills.
• Guaranteed base pay plus commission; earn with confidence.
• Monthly travel and expense budget to support business development.
• Dedicated processor & priority underwriting to close loans efficiently.
• Job stability with FAIRWINDS having no layoffs through market shifts.

Responsibilities

As an External Mortgage Loan Officer, you’ll be on the front lines of business development representing FAIRWINDS in your market and turning connections into clients.

Your Role In Our Mission

• Build and maintain strong relationships with real estate agents, builders, and other community professionals to drive consistent mortgage leads.
• Actively prospect through cold calling, networking, presentations, and community involvement.
• Represent FAIRWINDS at events, deliver engaging presentations, and drive brand awareness to grow your pipeline.
• Takes complete and accurate mortgage applications, participates in obtaining all necessary support documents, oversees the loan process by monitoring loan status and ensuring conformity to terms.
• Partner closely with your dedicated processor and enjoy priority underwriting to help you close loans efficiently and with confidence.
• Ensures exceptional member experience by interacting and interfacing with all parties involved in each individual loan transaction, from application to closing.
