Peraton is hiring an IT Specialist to support a government customer, delivering professional, high-quality services to end users, with both remote and in-person support for new installations and break/fix incidents. You will troubleshoot hardware, install and configure devices, manage accounts, monitor performance, and patch vulnerabilities per SLAs.

Day-to-day tasks include diagnosing incidents, configuring networks, backing up data, and maintaining network devices.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience, or Master’s with 3+ years; PhD acceptable with 0 years.
• Active TS clearance, SCI eligible.
• Active CompTIA Security+ certification required.
• Knowledge of computer networking concepts and protocols.
• Knowledge of risk management processes.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles.
• Knowledge of cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
• Knowledge of cloud computing service models (SaaS, IaaS, PaaS).

Responsibilities

Peraton is hiring an IT Specialist to support one of our government customers. You'll be responsible for delivering professional, high quality services directly to end users, providing both remote and in-person support for new installations and break/fix incidents. You will be responsible for supporting and troubleshooting a variety of technologies (network interconnectivity, desktops/laptops, tablets, local/network printers/scanners, peripherals, network devices, communication devices (cellphones, desk phones) adhering to contracted service level agreements.

Day to Day Work Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot system hardware and software.


• Diagnose and resolve customer reported system incidents, problems, and events.


• Install and configure hardware, software, and peripheral equipment for system users in accordance with organizational standards.


• Administer accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipment.


• Monitor and report client-level computer system performance.


• Configure and optimize network hubs, routers, and switches (e.g., higher-level protocols, tunneling).


• Develop and implement network backup and recovery procedures.


• Diagnose network connectivity problem.


• Install and maintain network infrastructure device operating system software (e.g., IOS, firmware).


• Install or replace network hubs, routers, and switches.


• Monitor network capacity and performance.


• Patch network vulnerabilities to ensure information is safeguarded against outside parties.


• Test and maintain network infrastructure including software and hardware devices.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience, or Master’s Degree and 3+ years of experience, or 0 years with PhD. A degree must be in one of the following fields: Information Technology, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Mathematics, or Data Science. However, in lieu of a degree in one of these fields of study four (4) years of additional relevant experience or specialized training may be be considered.


• Active TS clearance, SCI eligible.


• Active CompTIA Security+ certification required.


• Knowledge of computer networking concepts and protocols, and network security methodologies.


• Knowledge of risk management processes (e.g., methods for assessing and mitigating risk).


• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles.


• Knowledge of cyber threats and vulnerabilities.


• Knowledge of specific operational impacts of cybersecurity lapses.


• Knowledge of cloud computing service models Software as Service (SaaS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), and Platform as a Service (PaaS).


• Knowledge of cloud computing deployment models in private, public, and hybrid environment and the difference between on-premises and off-premises environments.

Target Salary Range

$80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
